Charles was born on 17th March 1881 and he was the fourth of the eleven children of George and Isabella Watkins. He married Flora Trussell on December 24th 1904. Flora was from Reading, where the mariage ceremony took place. Their children were:
They lived at Reading, where Charles worked for the biscuit makers Huntley & Palmer. He died aged 69 on January 21st 1951, at 45 Newport Road, Reading. His occupation was then given as Printers Compositor.
Eric married Ivy Rogers on August 7th 1933. At that time he was in the Royal Navy, serving on HMS Royal Oak, according to the lettering on his cap in the wedding photograph. Eric and Ivy had a son, Raymond Eric, born in 1936, at which time Eric was described as a Motor Driver Mechanic of 10, Greenfields Road, Reading. Eric subsequently served as a Fusilier in the Royal Army Service Corps and died in Italy on May 1st 1945.
Nina married Herbert Cecil Layley on December 26th 1936. She was then aged 19, living at 45 Newport Road, Reading. Herbert was aged 25, a baker of 45 Shaftesbury Road, Reading.
When she registered her father's death in 1951 Nina was living at 7 Thirlmere Avenue, Tilehurst, Reading. She died herself in 1996.
