Jane Watkins Martin
James' and Jean's daughter Jane was born in 1800 and died 30th October
1881 at 31, North Broadford, Aberdeen.
She married George Martin, grocer, on 4th April 1823 at St Paul's Episcopal
Chapel, St Nicholas. They had six children and appeared in the 1841 census
at North Broadford where George was a merchant spirit dealer.
In the 1881 census Jane was living in her son Alexander's household. Alexander
W Martin, flax and jute manufacturer, lived at 31, North Broadford. He was
unmarried, the employer of 20 men and 4 boys. Jane gave her place of birth
as Haddington.
There is a memorial in St Peter's Cemetery for the Martin family.
